The main elements within Performis are the following:
Dynamic Data Entry Scorecards
The system facilitates the collection of any type
of data through the use of web based dynamic scorecards
/ templates. Since the data entry scorecards are dynamic
they can be altered easily through a web-based interface
that the administrator controls.
Scorecard data will only be entered into the main system
database for reporting purposes if a scorecard has
been approved.
Reporting & Analysis
Most people in large organizations don't get paid to
build reports. They get paid to manage the things
that reports tell them about. To achieve this, users
simply want the reports they need to be delivered
when needed, regularly, in a usable format. Some
only want access to summary reports through dashboards.
Biznet’s Performis delivers operational and
management reports, drill-down analysis, and ad hoc
query across multiple Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
within the organization.
Report Builder - Allows you to build your own customized
reports and create your own Key Performance Indicators.
Dynamic Graphing
It is possible to create a graph based on report results.
The graphing module is a fully customizable tool,
which allows graphs to be charted, based on the report
data. The basic graphing capability allows for results
to be displayed as a comparison against any target
values, KPI’s or as a comparative graph between
more than one service company.
The graphs are fully customizable and can be exported
to various 3rd party software such as PowerPoint, Word,
Excel and other proprietary software
KPI Builder
Performis has been developed in order to measure Key
Performance Indicators via scorecard input. Once
the Key Performance Indicators have been established,
the specific scorecards for each product or service
line can then be built to capture the necessary input
data required to calculate these additional KPI’s.
The Performis Scorecarding system, presents the values
that are required to calculate KPI’s by displaying
the mandatory inputs as red fields. To calculate the
KPIs, Performis uses formulas which can be built through
the KPI builder and which remain invisible to the system
user.
For example, the KPI - Days Away from Work Injury
Frequency, is the days away from work injuries per
200,000 man-hours. Thus, the KPI would be calculated
based on the aggregation of users' responses to Days
Away from Work and Man Hours on the Rig.
These KPI’s form the foundation of the Performis
database, as they facilitate the comparison and ability
to analyse data through the Performis reporting feature.
Equation Builder
The Report Builder allows you to build your own customized
reports and create your own Key Performance Indicators
(KPIs) via an equation builder.
It is possible to construct a KPI that calculates values
based on required entry fields in the Scorecard.
For example, a sample KPI is (Sum of Non-Productive
Rig Time / Number of Well Name). The equation builder
is used to build complex KPI’s, it is important
to use parenthesis when building equations (examples
are given on the equation builder page).
The equation builder interface has various selection
boxes, which contain the components that are used to
structure the equation. For example, its possible to
use the drop-down to select how you want the value
placed within the equation: Sum of, Number of, or Average.
Additionally, similar to parenthesis and values, there
are dropdown menus that give various operators such
as ‘+’ or ‘*’, and these can
be very easily added to the equation.
In the following example, the system will begin with
the inner parenthesis and work its way out: ((Sum of
Total Operating Time - Sum of Total Non-Productive
Rig Time) / Sum of Total Operating Time) * 100.
The above equation can be built in a matter of seconds
using the equation builder.
Digital Dashboards

intelligence framework, the dash-boarding module delivers
information with maximum impact and clarity.
The system delivers corporate dashboards with rich,
multi-metric data visualizations, including maps and
a wide range of charts. Monitor performance easily
by exploring at-a-glance Key Performance Indicator
(KPI) metrics.
Automated Event Detection Alerts
Deliver event-driven business intelligence via email
to any user, anywhere, on connected or wireless devices.
Automatically deliver time-critical business information
to decision-makers through email and wireless technologies.
Performis has very powerful reporting and analysis
capabilities and provides the ability to push information
to users, allowing them to focus quickly on what needs
immediate attention. The system delivers personalized,
high-value information based on defined events. Any
user, anywhere across the organization or value chain,
can monitor key events using email notifications and
alerts that forward business-critical information to
them.
In this way, the system keeps people continuously
informed of critical events, whether they're in the
office or mobile. Users define the content and relevant
material that should accompany the alert or notification.
Users can define alerts for events such as:
- Targets
have been surpassed or reached upper or lower
limits.
- A key report is updated.
- A business performance
measure crosses a threshold.
- Time-critical information
is recorded in operational databases.
PerforMIS Implementation Status
The Performis Implementation Status has been developed
to provide a method of tracking which departments or
business units within an organisation are actually
using Performis and at what stage they are in terms
of rollout and implementation.
This traffic light system shows each stage of the
implementation status of Performis and highlights in
red, amber, green white or blue where a particular
department or Business Unit rank in terms of implementing
the system in terms of other BU’s.
It also can be used to monitor the return on investment
by graphically representing if certain departments
/ BUs are gaining significant return on investment
following the full implementation status.
The Administrator can create target dates to implement
each milestone. The users of the system will then be
able to update the completion status of these target
dates, and if the target date has been missed (i.e.
the completion status is not 100%) then the system
automatically sends out warning emails to all interested
parties and graphically illustrates that the implementation
is overdue by displaying a red or amber sphere. The
implementation league table system is an extremely
valuable tool, giving senior management the ability
to view detailed implementation plans per Business
Unit and effectively monitor these.
